The Lost Ark Studio presents "Old Moon Heart" by Tori, the first single from his latest EP, "Oh Dry Land" and the latest single from the Lost Ark Studio Compilation - Vol. 08, enjoy...
John Meeks spent the earlier part of his life roaming the southwest with his freewheelin' mother and two younger siblings in an often broken down Chrysler New Yorker. He eventually settled in San Diego, with summers spent wandering through the honky tonks of New Mexico where his talented and charismatic father played drums and sang in a working country band.
Backed by an all star list of San Diego musicians, he recorded his first album album “Old Blood” and an EP of duets with Joanie Mendenhall entitled “From My Grave”. His recordings have garnered much praise from local media, as well as national outlets like NPR, PopMatters and CMJ, and he was voted Best Americana/Country artist in the 2009 San Diego Music Awards.
lyrics
Old Moon Heart - John Meeks
On the train that stole my baby
Oh my baby where’ve you been
I can see your road runs weary
Come home baby and love me again
The rain you made is cold and dim
The canyon begs you near
I’ll love you with my old moon heart
And drown you in my river of tears
From the lonesome plains I see you
Down by where my troubles have grown
Through the veins of blood and river
Blood and river no one’s known
The rain you made is cold and dim
The canyon begs you near
I’ll love you with my old moon heart
And drown you in my river of tears
Gold and memories of you, they trail into the sea
And drown this old moon heart inside of me
Come home my baby
On the train that stole my baby
Oh my baby where’ve you been
I can see your road runs weary
Come home baby and love me again
The rain you made is cold and dim
The canyon begs you near
I’ll love you with my old moon heart
And drown you in my river of tears
